In this type of Bearing, rolling elements are cylindrical rollers. Ball Bearings have a POINT CONTACT on the races, whereas this type of Bearing have LINE CONTACT on races. Due to line contact, this type of Bearing has a greater load carrying capacity than the ball Bearing of same dimensions.

Due to detachable design character, they have an advantage of mounting inner and outer ring separately.
