In this type of Bearing, inner ring has two raceways and outer ring has a spherical raceway and its centre aligns with the center of the Bearing. Therefore, it has self-aligning character and Bearing can comfortably align 4° on either side. Without subjecting a Bearing to any strain, minor displacement of the shaft is automatically adjusted in this type.
These Bearings are suitable for heavy radial loads and very little thrust loads. They are very sensitive to thrust loads occurring due to improper installation.
These Bearings are available in straight bore and taper bore. Generally they are mounted with sleeve.
